What are the latest updates about Portugal's inclusion in the United States' Amigos Act?

Is it now officially one of the Amigos Act countries? Are Portuguese citizens eligible for the E-2 visa? If yes, does it include those who obtained citizenship through the Golden Visa route?

Answering your first questions, Portugal is part of E-1 and E-2 USA’s Treaty so is officially one of the Amigos Act countries. For your last question, the answer is also yes, it includes the ones who obtained citizenship through the Golden Visa.

The AMIGO ACT was approved and Portugal was included in the E-1 and E-2 treaties, which means that citizens of Portuguese nationality (regardless the path they followed to obtained it) will be able to manage trade, invest and/or live in the United States of America for 2 consecutive years, automatically renewable, according to certain admissibility rules.

The Amigos Act was signed into law and applies to Portuguese citizens (irrespective of how nationality was acquired or granted).

Yes, Portugal is from the 27 January 2023, part of the Amigos Act. This means that Portuguese citizens are eligible for the E-2 visa. There are no differences in the nationality, so the nationality that was acquired by Golden Visa, qualifies for E-2.
