In any property’s investment in Greece, the involved expenses are calculated as a percentage of around 10% on the contract value of the acquisition, and this percentage is applicable for Greek citizens and foreign investors as well. Till the end of 2023, the transfer tax has risen to 3.09%, the land registry’s expenses vary from 0.60%-1% while the notary’s fees start at around 1.20%-1,50%. The real estate fees are starting from 2% and raise up to 5%, depending on the property and the market rules. Furthermore, legal and technical due diligence is the critical part of the transaction.

There are transaction taxes as well as lawyers' notary fees for the power of attorney and the final contract; there's also the land registry fee, immigration office fees, photograph charges, insurance fees and the accountant's fee.
