The Bulgarian citizenship by investment program is up and running, although its conditions are set to be tightened significantly. In its current form, the program requires an applicant to buy Bulgarian Eurobonds (or other qualifying products, i.e., shares) for an amount of either 512,000 euros or 1024,000 euros. Depending on the amount invested, an applicant can become eligible for citizenship in 12 months or five years, respectively.
