Can dependents apply for permanent residency in Italy together with the investor visa holder?

I want to apply for an investors visa of Italy and relocate my family here. I heard that after five years, I can apply for permanent residency, and my dependents will become permanent residents as well for family reasons. Is this a separate process from my application for permanent residency, or can we apply together as a family once I am eligible for permanent residency?

Your dependents can apply for a stay permit for family reasons based on the stay permit that you will be holding, either the investor visa and stay permit or the permanent residence permit that you may obtain after five years of legal residence in the country.

Dependents cannot formally apply for permanent residency in Italy together with the investor visa holder, but if they are mentioned into a business plan as necessary to start a business in Italy, they can then apply for residency by following the normal procedure as dependants.
