How can I include my mother-in-law as a dependent in my residency by investment application for Cyprus?

My mother-in-law lives with us in the same household and I was planning to apply for a golden visa including her and my spouse and our three children. But I’ve heard that you can’t include your in-laws now. Is that already in effect? Are there any ways to work around it?

According to the regulations that are currently in effect, the investor shall prove that, other than the investment, s/he has at his/her disposal a secure annual income of at least €30,000. This annual income increases by €5,000 for each dependent family member and €8,000 for each dependent parent (of the applicant and/or his/her spouse). However, the revision of the regulation which will be in effect by the 2nd of May, 2023, prima facie states that it will not grant residency to parents, in-laws and adult children.

At the moment, the criteria have not yet been published, but it would not be possible to add the parents of the applicant or the parents-in-law will not be entitled to apply. Unfortunately, the adults (parents-in-law and parents) would have to apply for permanent residence with a separate application.
