How can investors put their money in environment and climate change related projects in Australia, and also get permanent residency?

I'm a young investor from a non-EU country who cares deeply about the environment. What investment immigration opportunities exist for people like me who would like to see their money go into environment preservation projects like reforestation etc. in Australia?

Your ability to invest in projects like reforestation will depend on what investment or business visas option you are eligible to apply for. There are investment visa options for 2.5 million Australian dollars and 5 million Australian dollars. However, they have defined areas of investment that you must comply with. It will also depend if you are able, or are required, to invest in activities in addition to these prescribed investments.

Subclass 188 visas require applicants to be nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency. Therefore, you need to approach these bodies and explain how your proposed investment complies with the state or territory investment framework that includes investment into infrastructure, projects or ventures located in that state or territory of Australia.  If the state or territory government agency approves your proposed project, they will nominate you for the subclass 188 visa.
