How can South African investors take advantage of Grenada's E-2 treaty with the U.S.?

I'm a South African business looking for a shortcut to live and work in the U.S. If that's my goal, would it matter what investment option -- donation or real estate -- I choose to get my citizenship in Grenada? What would you advise me?

The language in the official application for E-2 speaks about a tangible nexus with the country but does not speak to what that nexus should be; however, a residence or property, business or business interest would all qualify. Through the investment option these can be achieved via fractional freehold interest, share-hold interest and property ownership, and the accompanying address, tax ID and utility bills would help substantiate same. Via the donation route, there have also been successful E-2 applicants but a lack of the required “nexus” would make for a weaker application in my opinion. There are approved developments now offering a full return of investment funds, which competes directly with the donation option in terms of net cost, and provides a much needed level of security to the investment.
