I heard Italian law permits the purchase of real estate by foreigners with a few exceptions. Which ones?

I am from Egypt and am considering buying a historical property in northern Italy for investment immigration.

There is no specific resident permit that can be directly obtained through a real estate investment.

Italy does not have a specific program whereby you can obtain residency by purchasing real estate. An Italian investor visa can be obtained by purchasing government bonds, investing in a company or in an innovative startup, or donating to philanthropic projects of public interest.

As an Egyptian citizen, you would be entitled to buy even two properties for residential use, however, you are not allowed to buy a historical property.
