What vaccine passports are now accepted in Japan?

Does Japan allow foreigners vaccinated in non-EU countries to visit? Would Chinese vaccine certificates be considered good enough?

Vaccination certificates issued by local municipalities are now being accepted by a very limited number of private sectors, such as hotels, restaurants and stadiums which offer some preferential treatments. It is being reported that the Suga Cabinet may soon announce the introduction of the use of vaccine certificates more broadly, in both public and private, from October or November when the percentage of population is expected to be fully vaccinated, much more than the current about 50%. Japan has approved Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines only until now. There is no information on how a Chinese vaccine certificate would be handled.
