When is New Zealand planning to reopen its borders to foreigners, especially business people and investors?

I’ve heard New Zealand has started a phased approach to reopening of its borders. Does that mean investors and business folks can now visit to explore residency opportunities?

New Zealand’s international border is reopening in five phases for fully vaccinated, eligible travelers. From July 2022, in the fourth phase, visitors from visa-waiver countries can visit New Zealand. In the fifth and final phase, from October 2022, the border opens for all other New Zealand visa holders, including visitor and student visas, unless the visa is closed or paused. Applications for all New Zealand visas will reopen in October 2022, unless the visa is closed or paused. Accordingly, investors and business folks can visit New Zealand in October 2022.

People who are eligible for visa free access can start coming from July and the rest from October. Other COVID-related rules apply.
