Are there any exceptions on the dependent ages for Greek Golden Visas?

I have a developmentally disabled child who is 25. He lives with my husband and I full time and is completely dependent upon us. He is older than the 21-year age limit, though. Can we still get him a visa based on our property purchase?

Since your child is 25 years old, he/she cannot get the Golden Visa, only if he/she is the buyer of the propery and includes the parents as family members.

The property market will be in the name of your two children, at a rate of 50 percent, and as parents you are entitled to a resident permit.

Greek law does not provide specifically for such cases. Could you please clarify whether you have an official document proving that your child is completely dependent upon you? For example, in Greece, when a person is completely unable to act on his/her own, then he/she is placed under "judicial support", by the rendering of a relevant court judgment.

According to the law, family members of third-country citizens entitled for Golden Visa privileges are also the direct unmarried descendants of the spouse who are under the age of 21. Since your child is 25 years old, he or she cannot be entitled for a Golden Visa. There is an open discussion for relevant a amendment in legal provisions for adult children, with health problems and who are totally dependent on their parents, but until now, there is no provision in force. Of course, there is a possibility for your child to be the main investor and his/her parents to be entitled for Golden Visa as family members, but you have to check that the whole procedure has to be implemented on behalf of him/her under the requested legal representation by the rendering either a power of attorney or a relevant court decision, depending on the case.
