Can I buy real estate to obtain Panama residency?

I am interested in buying a small home in Panama City. I do not come from one of the countries listed on the Friendly Nations list. Can buying real estate help me live in the country? Why or why not?

Yes. If you are not planning to work or engage in business activities in Panama, you can invest $300,000 on properties in Panama and apply to an investor visa.

It is possible to apply and obtain a residency permit by investing at least $300,000 in real estate. It can be one or more properties, as long as the investment is mortgage free. If you will include dependents, you should add $2000 per dependent.

Yes, you can. Under the self-solvency visa category, you can apply for permanent residency if you suffice a minimum investment of $300,000 in the country, which can be in real estate, fixed-term bank deposits or a combination of both.
