I am wondering if Grenada ever accepted a citizenship-by-investment application from a stateless person. Could there be any obstacles for them during the application process?
While there is no official statement on this issue appearing on the official website of the Grenada CBI Unit, I am of the view that such a person will be unable to fulfill the requirements to support an application and therefore may not be able to apply. A direct inquiry should be made to the CBI Unit.
You may apply to the Grenada program if you do not have a de facto nationality, as long as you are able to provide detailed explanations as to why and be able to provide a minimum document requirement to include police certificates, birth certificates, former passports and affidavits to support same. The obstacles would be proving you are who you say you are and providing sufficient documentation that a due diligence check will be able to confirm the same.
It has been challenging to process the applications for persons without a nationality. However, it may be considered on a case by case basis in special circumstances and for special reasons provided that such persons can pass due diligence including reputation due diligence checks.
