Has New Zealand brought forward the date of reopening its borders to all international travelers?

I’ve heard that all travelers would now be allowed in the country from May. Is that true?

New Zealand has announced that from May 1, 2022, the border will open for travelers from visa waiver countries and for the existing (onshore and offshore) holders of valid visitor visas. From October 2022, visa processing resumes for all categories, including visitor and student visas, unless the visa is closed or paused. Therefore, all travelers would be allowed in the country from October 2022.

Australian travelers that meet entry requirements will be able to enter from April 12. Visa free or visa waiver country nationals that meet the entry requirements will be able to enter from May 2, 2022. But nobody else for now.
