How can a Vietnamese investor apply for a Panama passport?

I am Vietnamese and I want to relocate to Panama. I heard that citizens from certain countries are eligible to apply for a friendly nation visa. Where can I find the friendly-state list? Does this visa lead to a Panama passport?

Unfortunately, Vietnamese nationals are not included in this list. However, there are several residency-by-investment options, starting from a minimal investment of $80,000 on reforested land to $160,000 in your own business. Finally, there is investing $300,000 in real estate in Panama that will qualify you to acquire permanent residency in Panama. Once you have become a permanent resident, you’ll eventually qualify for citizenship and, hence, a Panamanian passport.

A Friendly Nations visa is not available for Vietnamese citizens. The options available for Vietnamese citizens are residency-by-investment, such as the Forestry Visa that requires $80,000 investment in a forestry approved project, or the economic solvency visa. This requires a $300,000 investment in a bank CD or real estate in Panama. There is also the Private Income Retiree Visa, which requires approximately $365,000 in bank CDs and leads to a special Panama traveler's passport. Regardless of the aforementioned visa options, after five years from the date that permanent residency is secured, the applicant becomes eligible to apply for citizenship, which grants Panamanian passport.

Please note that Vietnam is not part of the Friendly Nations list. Therefore, you can apply as an investor with a minimum investment of $80,000 U.S. dollars. After five years of permanent residency, you can apply for citizenship in order to get a Panamanian passport.
