How can I change nominated assets to investment after my residency is approved in principle under the New Zealand investor 2 resident visa?

Six months ago, I got the residency approval in principle for the New Zealand investor 2 resident visa. In the initial proposal I nominated one property under my name as a part of a mix of funds. Due to some personal reasons, I would like to keep this property and use a similar property under my name, with higher value, to meet the requirements of the program. Is it possible? Should I inform someone or submit another application because of this change?

To the best of my knowledge, that is not possible. The policy requires liquidation of nominated assets and transfer of associated funds via the trading bank system. Therefore, the key word is "nominated." I would suggest that you contact your adviser of the business team of Immigration New Zealand to confirm, but in my opinion, the scenario you outlined will not meet the policy and is not likely to be approved.
