What will be the return on my funds invested for the New Zealand investor 1 visa?

My investment advisor is asking how the return will be determined. I’d like to know whether it will be based on the rate of inflation or if there are special qualifications for returns given to investors for this program.

There is no set return for your investment funds under investor 1 or 2 category. It is subject to your risk appetite and varies between 2 percent to 5 percent typically for managed funds after fee. Acceptable investments can also be one or more of the followings: bonds issued by the New Zealand government or local authorities; bonds issued by New Zealand firms traded on the New Zealand Debt Securities Market (NZDX); bonds issued by New Zealand firms with at least a BBB- or equivalent rating from internationally recognized credit rating agencies (Standard and Poor's, for example); equity in New Zealand firms (public or private, including managed funds and venture capital funds); bonds issued by New Zealand registered banks; equities in New Zealand registered banks; residential property development(s) (see BJ3.10.40); commercial property (see BJ3.15.5); bonds in finance companies (see BJ3.10 (d)); eligible New Zealand venture capital funds (see BJ3.10.45); philanthropic investment (see BJ3.15.10); or angel funds or networks’ investments.
