What is the best route for an international student to get New Zealand permanent residency?

I am an international student in Auckland. I will graduate next year and want to work and live in New Zealand after graduation. I do not have the financial ability to apply for its RBI program. I am wondering if there are any other routes for a new graduate like me to obtain New Zealand permanent residency.

First of all, I would suggest you apply for a post-study open work visa. There is a relatively low funds requirement for that category. As for the future, you will need to obtain skilled employment adequately paid. That could lead you to a resident visa. However, I do recommend professional assistance as this is a complex process and application.

There will be a number of pathways to NZ residency. The most common category is Skill Migration category which means you will need to score at least 160 points to qualify.
