What is the requirement on the net worth of a multi-entry visa applicant of Japan?

As a Chinese citizen, I need to apply for a visa to visit Japan as a tourist. I read that I have the option to apply for a multi-entry tourist visa, but my net worth must reach a certain amount. How much money do I need to have in my bank account in order to be granted such a visa? Do stocks and bonds accounts count?

Multiple-entry individual tourist visas may be issued to those Chinese travelers who have a sufficient level of financial capability and their family members. It is said that 200,000 yuan in annual income is required. It may also be issued to those who have travel records to enter Japan twice or more in the last three years with certain categories of an individual tourist visa (a group tour visa and temporary visa, known as a tokudai, are excluded) and show 100,000 yuan in annual income. These numerical criteria are subject to change. So please contact a Japanese consulate office to confirm.
