At this pace, unfortunately you would never be able to request Canadian citizenship. What you are currently doing may be allowing you to extend PR if your job is temporary and with the objective to come back to Canada. But unless you spend physically 1,095 days in Canada within any period of years, you cannot be eligible to apply for citizenship. My advice if you want the passport: Request to be transferred back to Canada for a minimum of three years.
