I am interested in Malta’s CBI program but not sure if I can commit to living there as long as is required. Can I do any of the application from outside Malta? Is it possible to establish legitimate ties to Malta from abroad? How long do I need to live there for a successful application? What are the residency requirements after acquiring the Maltese passport?
You need to be a resident of Malta for a minimum of one year after obtaining an e-residency card. It does not mean your physical presence in Malta during the whole year. You must stay in Malta 20 to 25 days only. It could be done by a one-time trip or some short visits during the first year after the application.
