What are the criteria for the Permanent Residence for Qualified Investors category in Panama?

Who is considered a qualified investor? I heard that the Panamanian government has extended the availability of a reduced minimum investment amount. Until when and what is the reduced amount? Can I add my family to the application as well?

The Qualified Investor Visa's most popular eligibility option is for a minimum $500,000 effective investment in real estate in Panama, which had a promotional minimum investment amount of $300,000 until October 2022, yet extended recently for an additional 24 months period. This option is available for the main applicant and the close relatives such as legal spouse and children.

An applicant may be considered a “qualified investor” when he or she invests: (1) USD 300k in real estate; (2) USD 500k in the Panamanian stock market; (3) USD 750k in a fix-term deposit at a local bank, for a minimum of five years. The threshold for real estate investment will be raised to USD 00k, starting October 2024. In any case, you may always include your spouse, children under 25 y/o and parents.
