Can I start working when I get my residency in Turkey?

If I obtain a long-term residency permit in Turkey, does that automatically grant me the right to work?

Having a residence permit, regardless of its type, does not by itself replace a work permit in Turkey. In order to work in Turkey, you must also apply for a work permit and as a result, you must be able to obtain a work permit. If you have a residence permit valid for at least 6 months, you can apply for a work permit in Turkey.

Unfortunately, holding a residence permit does not authorize the individual to engage in employment within Turkey. To legally work, obtaining a work permit is essential.
