As a Portuguese citizen, you can be responsible for your children in Portugal, particularly in terms of providing accommodation and covering all expenses related to their stay in the country. That being said, yes, you can sponsor a work visa for your son. It is important to note that the Portuguese Nationality Law is currently undergoing some changes. Although these amendments have not yet been approved, it is anticipated that the minimum residency period required to obtain Portuguese nationality will probably be extended to 10 years.
