How can we get an exception made for the ages of dependents on a Malta citizenship-by-investment application?

I understand that child dependents must be under 26 and adult dependents over 55. However, my child is now 26 and will be turning 27 by the time our application is finished. Will he age out and no longer be eligible? Are any exceptions made to these rules? How can we get them?

Applications may include a child of the main applicant, or of the spouse of the main applicant, who is between 18 and 26 years of age at the date of submission of application, who is not married, and who proves that he/she is wholly maintained or supported by the main applicant.

The IIP application must be submitted before your child turns 27. No exceptions are made.
