How much influence does my previous work experience have on my ability to get a Canadian PNP nomination?

I worked as a senior manager for an import-export trading company in my home country. Now I am considering immigrating to Manitoba using the PNP. But I am not sure if I will still work within the trading and commercial industry. Could my case be negatively impacted if I submit a business plan in an economic sector other than the one I have experience in?

Your previous work experience has an impact, but it is one of several factors. Most importantly, is your project good for the community and/or the economy? Rural Manitoba has investment needs, so if you are willing to invest and meet such needs, your application should be seen positively.

Your case will not be negatively impacted. We have seen many cases approved with totally different ventures in Canada than what they did or do in their home country.
