What is the current 888A visa processing time?

We lodged a 888A visa in September 2025. Currently on a bridging visa A as our 188A visa expired. Any indication of how long until the application will start being processed? I saw the new migration planning level for 2025-26, and it highlights a strong focus on employer-sponsored skill migration and the health/education sectors. Where does the 888a visa lie on that scale? Also, any chances of refusal? We have met all criteria, including turnover, investment, state requirements (Vic), and employee requirements. Is there any particular area they can be fussy about? Our agent is confident of a good outcome, but the fear of failure is still in my heart, unfortunately.

Your 888A application is currently within the standard 4 to 8 month processing window. Since you lodged in September 2025, you are right on track; there is no need for concern, and you should continue to wait patiently. If the timeframe exceeds 9 months, that would be the appropriate time for your migration agent to contact the Department for an update. Since you have already secured Victorian state nomination, the most difficult hurdle is over. The Department is now simply verifying your documentation against the stipulated requirements. Because your agent has confirmed your compliance regarding turnover, investment, and management, your visa will be granted once these routine checks are finalized.
