How can investors from countries that were on the former travel ban list of mostly Muslim countries now apply for Maltese CBI programs?

I'm a Sudanese businessman looking to get residency/dual citizenship for myself and my family. Now that the Biden administration has lifted the Trump era Muslim ban, how will this impact Malta which is part of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program? Will my application be successful if I now apply for Malta's residency/citizenship programs for investors?

We have a list of countries that applicants who either have a nationality from or have close ties to, cannot apply under the Granting of Citizenship for Exceptional Services Regulations. Likewise under the Malta Permanent Residence Program.

Unfortunately, you are not eligible to apply for Maltese citizenship or Maltese residency since Sudan remains listed as a banned country. You will have to choose another program.
