How can unvaccinated investors visit Australia to explore investment immigration opportunities?

I’ve heard Australia is now letting in unvaccinated foreign visitors in the country if their PCR test is negative. Is this true? What would you advise unvaccinated investors looking to visit Australia soon?

From December 15, 2021, fully vaccinated people with eligible visas can travel to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption. You may also be able to travel to Australia without seeking a travel exemption if you are fully vaccinated and you are automatically exempt from Australia’s travel restrictions, or if you are travelling to Australia under a safe travel zone arrangement. All others seeking to travel to Australia must apply for a travel exemption.

At this time, a person holding a subclass 188 (a temporary business or investor visa) is not required to be vaccinated to enter Australia. As part of the travel requirements, the person must obtain a negative PCR result within three days of travel to Australia. There are other classes such as certain visitors, parents etc. that are required to be vaccinated or have an accepted medical contraindication that prevents vaccination. These requirements are subject to change and only relate to the Australian border. Each state and territory will determine entry and quarantine requirements for that region of Australia.

You will need to seek exemption. (See https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/vaccinated-travellers).

A 188 Business Innovation and Investment visa holder is one of the exempt categories for travel to Australia without a travel exemption. 188 visa holders do not need to be vaccinated but would be subject to quarantine rules under state and territory guidelines depending on your port of arrival. If you were opposed to being vaccinated, you could apply offshore for a 188 visa, and then be able to travel to Australia once it is granted. Other temporary visa holders will be required to be vaccinated with an approved vaccine. If you were vaccinated overseas, you will need to present a foreign vaccination certificate to airline staff before travelling. This will be a requirement for holders of a 600 Visitor visa in any stream, including tourist and business visitor.
