What is required of the criminal record certificates for Cyprus CBI applications?

Do all Cyprus citizenship-by-investment and permanent resident applications require a criminal record certificate as part of the application? What kind of certificate is needed in this context, and what do I do if I am unable to fulfill this requirement? Are other background checks acceptable?

You need a clean criminal record from the place that you currently reside and from Cyprus. This can be obtained from the police. If you cannot obtain it, then you cannot proceed with the application.

A clean criminal record certificate from one's country of origin (birth) and country of residency, if different, is a hard requirement of both the Cyprus Investment Program as well as the Cyprus PR program. These need to come from an official authority of the country of issuance and be properly attested.

A non-criminal record certificate is a mandatory requirement. Other background checks are also carried out internally by a firm as well as by the government.
