What type of criminal record do we need to obtain residency in Cyprus?

I'm a Cypriot citizen engaged to an American citizen. Me and my fiancé will be getting married in Cyprus, where we will be residing. We were told that we need a criminal record for him. Our confusion is, we have read that in the U.S., they have different levels of criminal record backgrounds. Which level of criminal record should we be requesting for residency and work in Cyprus?

Regarding USA citizens, they require a criminal record from the FBI and one from the state he is residing. Both criminal records need to be apostilled.
