Are there any current issues that may restrict Afghani citizens from obtaining citizenship in Turkey?

I’m an Afghani national who lives in Iraq. I’m looking to relocate to Europe but there are many restrictions and it’s an uphill battle for someone with my passport. Fortunately I’ve made some good money in Iraq and considering buying property in Turkey to get citizenship. I’m just concerned there might be any (unofficial) restrictions on Afghani applicants to golden visa there like many countries... Could you advise?

There are currently no official restrictions on Afghan citizens. It is currently possible to acquire Turkish citizenship through the purchase of real estate as specified in the law. 400 thousand dollars worth of condominium ownership or condominium easement has been established or it is possible to gain Turkish citizenship by buying a landed property with a building on it. In addition to these, you will need to obtain many documents from your country regarding your citizenship and current status. However, the citizenship unit is currently reviewing incoming citizenship applications (regardless of the nation) in detail. Therefore, the process needs to be managed well.

Afghan citizens who fulfill the requirements for acquisition of Turkish citizenship through investment can acquire Turkish citizenship without any restrictions. However, it may not be possible for subsequent spouses of polygamous investors to acquire citizenship.

There is no additional restriction for citizenship by investment (CBI) applications in Turkey by Afghani citizens, however, personal documentary submissions (civil records, birth certificate etc.) that require apostille or Turkish Consulate verification may be an issue. Turkey does not have a golden visa program.
