Could my daughter lose her Turkish citizenship after she gets married?

My daughter is 17 years and 6 months old now. I would like to apply for Turkish citizenship by purchasing a property and get her Turkish citizenship. She also plans to get married when she turns 18 years old. Could she lose her citizenship as my dependent when she gets married?

After obtaining Turkish citizenship, your daughter will take citizenship, too. Actually, your situation depends on your nationality. It can be said that if your nationality comes from some Islamic countries, there would be another result. On the other hand, if not, as we said before, she will get Turkish citizenship with you, without any demand or application.

No. She won’t lose her Turkish citizenship. If your daughter is under 18 when you apply for Turkish citizenship, that can be obtained by investment she can acquire Turkish citizenship with you. At this point, the only thing you need to pay attention to is your daughter should be under 18(at the time of applying for citizenship). That’s why you should hurry to apply for Turkish citizenship before your daughter becomes adult.

Turkish citizenship can be obtained by way of investment and the spouse and children under the age of 18 can benefit from the initial investors' application. Since there no specific regulation as to whether the age criteria is applied at the date of application or the acquisition of citizenship, it can be interpreted that it is based on the age at the date of application since the law refers to the application eligibility criteria. However, this issue is not confirmed by the relevant authorities for the moment. Once Turkish citizenship is acquired, there is no reason that it becomes invalid due to a marriage. Dual citizenship is also permitted in the Turkish system. Therefore, marriage following receipt of citizenship is not a reason for the loss of such citizenship. However, in case of marriage under 18, the married child will no longer be eligible to benefit from the mothers' initial application.

Once your daughter is granted Turkish citizenship, she will not lose citizenship even though she gets married after she becomes 18 years old. However, you have to hurry to initiate the application since your daughter is now 17 years and 6 months now. Please note that we advise our clients to apply at least 4 months prior to their children become 18.

After she gets citizenship, if she marries, it will not affect her citizenship. Also, three years after the marriage, her husband can apply for citizenship.

Your daughter will not lose her citizenship in case she gets married when she turns 18 years old. However, we advise you to take quick action on this given that there is a rumor in the lobby that the purchase amount would rise to $500,000 instead of $250,000 by the Parliament due to the increase in applications.

If your daughter acquires citizenship depending on your application to acquire citizenship through investment, the Turkish citizenship bond will not end after marriage. You must make your applications as soon as possible because the procedures will take time and your daughter must be under 18 to gets citizenship depending on you.

No, she doesn't lose her citizenship after she gets married. If she marries after she gets Turkish Citizenship then her spouse can get citizenship in three years according to citizenship by marriage program. Her spouse could have a family type of residency for three years during his citizenship duration.
