For how long can I get a job seeking visa in Australia with a master’s degree in communications?
I'm finishing up a master's degree in communications in Australia, which I was able to get under a full scholarship. What duration of a job-seeking visa would I qualify for with my degree?

Assuming you meet the Australian study requirement (2 academic years of study in Australia), you should be eligible for a Post Study work visa (Subclass 485) with a duration of at least 3 years (Master by coursework). Although some Masters by coursework can lead to a visa with a duration of 5 years, a Masters in Communications is not one of the qualifications listed as being eligible. Under the current requirements to qualify for a Subclass 482 Temporary Skills Shortage sponsored employment visa, you will need 2 years of work experience in the occupation. If you're looking at General Skilled Migration, you'll need a nomination from a state or territory government for a Subclass 190 or 491 visa, and to qualify for the skills assessment you'll need at least 1 year of relevant work experience following a relevant qualification (there are other options with differing qualification requirements and longer periods of work experience required). If you're looking to obtain permanent residence eventually then you should seek qualifying work experience to meet the Subclass 482, 190 or 491 requirements mentioned above. Do note we are expecting changes to these visas commencing this year (the Subclass 482 will be replaced by a new work visa, and the points system for 190 and 491 will change).

You have the (1) Post-Study Work Stream and (2) Graduate Work Stream. Generally to your question: the available periods are between 18 months to 4 years. Your details are not fully relevant; there is missing information as to the key dates and periods to meet Australian study requirements. If you would like to have an assessment, you could visit the Home Affairs Website.
