You can pay your application fees in cryptocurrency if your licensed agent accepts it. However, you must pay your government donation directly to the government in fiat currency. If applying via a property investment, you may be able to pay in cryptocurrency if the seller accepts cryptocurrency. It only has to be in Bitcoin if Bitcoin is the only currency your licensed agent will accept. Try to find an agent who accepts multiple cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies for the ultimate flexibility. Your crypto portfolio will not count towards your net wealth under the present rules, albeit you must disclose your holdings to the government in your application. When applying for citizenship, you will be required to show that you have a sufficiently healthy net wealth comprised of fiat currency and investments, as well as an annual income, allowing you to comfortably apply for citizenship and/or residency.
