How does Portugal facilitate investors in same sex relationships when they apply for golden visas?

I'm from the Middle East looking to start a new life in Portugal with my partner of many years. What options would best for us if we take the residency via investment route in Portugal given the fact that we are unmarried and also have adopted children?

Portugal does not discriminate against same-sex relationships. You may apply for a Golden Visa under the stable union. For this process, you just need to provide evidence that your relationship has existed for more than two years.

There are no restrictions whatsoever on same-sex couples applying for the Golden Visa program in Portugal. For the longest time, Portugal has increased the right to have same-sex relationships, be it by marriage or civil partnership, as well as for adopted children; internationally, Portugal is known to be one of the most progressive countries in this regard. As such, when applying for the Golden Visa program, you’ll just be required to provide proof of your civil partnership and the children’s adoption in order to submit your application. From the many cases we’ve dealt with regarding same-sex relationships, we have never had any other decision but that of acceptance by the authorities, which proves Portugal welcomes and is supportive of same-sex relationships.

Portuguese legislation is based on respect, equality and non-discrimination of ancestry, gender, language, territory of origin, religion, political or ideological convictions, education, economic or social situation or sexual orientation. Civil partnerships between people of the same sex have been recognized since 2001 and marriage as of 2010. There are no impediments in golden visas for people of the same sex, married or not, thus, they can invest, jointly or separately, in Portugal provided that the investments are done under the terms eligible for that concession.
