Would you recommend investing in real estate and using Airbnb, or investing stock exchange to get Panama residency? I'm interested in what would be a more profitable option.

If you are considering between real estate or local securities investment for residency application, maybe you could consider a local REIT which is eligible for residency applications.

Investing in real estate or the stock exchange in Panama can both pave the way to securing permanent residency. The specific residency category you pursue will determine the minimum investment required. For instance, if you opt for real estate, you'll need to invest a minimum of USD 200,000 for some categories and USD 300,000 for others. Conversely, if you choose to invest in the Panamanian stock exchange, you'll need to commit at least USD 500,000 or more. It's crucial to note that short-term leases lasting less than 45 days are prohibited within Panama City but permissible in other parts of the country.
