How will the Amigo Act impact my access to the E-2 visa as a Grenadian citizen by investment?

Will it be applied retroactively once approved or how does it work?

We are still in the process of understanding the parameters of the Amigo act, but bearing in mind that it was always clear that there should be a nexus between the E-2 applicant and the E-2 country, it is not surprising that the United States government has requested more clarity by imposing a residence requirement. When investors decide to pursue citizenship by investment in Grenada, there is a mandated five-year holding period on their investment, during which time the residency requirement could be satisfied. Once we fully understand the parameters of those requirements, we will be in a better position to advise our clients on how to proceed.
