Is HIV something that causes a rejection for Panama investor visas?

I contracted the HIV disease a few years ago but have managed it with the recent innovations in medicine. Am I still eligible to immigate to Panama under any of its residency programs? Are exceptions made for any medical conditions like HIV?

According to Article 50 of the Decree Law 3 of 2008, the National Immigration Service has the prerogative to both deny or even revoke visas or resident permits when the applicant suffers from a disease that the Ministry of Health may qualify as a “sanitary risk." An exception may be requested, but chances of getting it are not high.

Unfortunately, yes, as immigration can reject your residency application for such a condition for reasons of public health.
