Is Malta’s citizenship-by-investment program still under a cap system?

I understand the CBI program is capped at 1,800 participants. But is that on a yearly basis, or an all-time basis? Is the program still accepting applications? Is it nearing its cap, and how can I know in advance of that possibility?

The program still accepts applications. You need to send a request to any accredited agent to know in advance of that possibility.

According to the IIP regulator’s 5th annual report, tabled in the Maltese parliament in December 2018, 961 letters of approval were issued in terms of the IIP by June 2018. The number of main applicants to be naturalized as Maltese citizens in terms of the program is capped at 1,800. The Maltese government has consistently reiterated its intention to extend the said limit once reached.
