What are the criteria of the Global Talent visa program of the U.K.?

I heard that the U.K. will launch a Global Talent visa program next month to attract scientists and researchers to the country. What are the criteria of a “Global Talent”? What documents do I need to provide to prove my professional skills?

This visa was announced only a few days ago. The official guidance should be issued in soon.

As of today, the Global Talent Visa in the U.K. requirements has not be announced. At the same time, you can depend on the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa. To get a Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa, you need to apply to be endorsed as a leader (exceptional talent) or emerging leader (exceptional promise). Your application will be reviewed by an organization, called a "designated competent body," which is related to your qualifying fields. If you are successful, you will receive an email from the Home Office with a copy of your endorsement letter. You will need these for your visa application. If you submitted your endorsement and visa applications at the same time, your endorsement letter will be automatically linked to your visa application.

This new visa will be launched on Feb. 20, 2020. No immigration rules have yet been published, which means what evidence to provide is unknown as the person applying may need different evidence. This new visa route has four areas that includes senior appointments, fellowship, endorsed funders and peer review. It will be expected the person applying will need some kind of U.K. endorsement. To get the endorsement, you must demonstrate your exceptional skill sets.
