How much do I need to invest and can I launch my own company in any industry? How long does it take to get approved with the backlog in Canada?

There is no minimum investment. The designated entities usually select tech related companies. IRCC is now processing April 2020 applications so about 2 years at the moment.

English or French, level 5 out of 12 is required. There is no specific amount of money required for investment, the key is "genuine investment in a genuine start-up". Time frames are officially at 31 months between file submission and PR visas, but if you get a Letter Of Support (LOS) from a designated organization with a good reputation, if your project is clearly genuine, your application may be processed quicker.
