What flexibility do I have to travel and work in the U.K. as a Cyprus citizen after Brexit?

If I obtain citizenship of Cyprus through its CBI program, can I travel and work freely in the U.K. after Brexit? Do Cyprus and the U.K. have any kind of special agreement regarding the freedom of movement between citizens of both countries after Brexit?

Currently there is a lot of uncertainty of what will be the rules in case of no deal, hard Brexit. However, the British government has issued its intended immigration policy after leaving the EU.

This matter will be decided at the level of the U.K., not Cyprus.

With the current bilateral agreements, if Brexit takes place, you will not be able to travel and work freely in the U.K., as no such agreement permitting this exists. Even if the U.K. remains within the EU, there are limitations to residing permanently in another country of the EU (i.e. obtaining work, income, etc.).

There is still no clear path as to the details of how the U.K. deciding to allow for Europeans to work and live in Cyprus. We are expecting to have a clear understanding after Brexit. Cyprus is part of the commonwealth and therefore we may be allowed to travel to the U.K. with easier access.

At this stage we do not have a clear understanding. It is a matter to be decided following Brexit between the two governments. Nevertheless, as Cyprus is part of the commonwealth, we expect that the position would be to maintain a consistent approach on the application on various policies between the two governments.

The relationship between EU countries and U.K. is to be decided officially between the parties involved at a European level. Hence, at this stage there are no clear answers to your questions.
