What is the best way for investors with funds in non-Euro currencies such as Renminbi or Rial to apply for residency by investment in Italy?

Would I have to convert my funds into euros first? Or can I apply showing funds in my country of origin’s currency? If Italian authorities will convert it on their end then what exchange rate would they rely on?

For filing the application, you do not need to convert your funds. You need to give evidence to the ministry that you have available funds coming from legal sources. The investment will be done after you obtain the ministry's clearance and the visa is issued within three months from your entry into the country.
