What role does the government body InvestCayman play in the CBI process?

Is it necessary for all foreign investors to route their CBI options via this government body?

It is not necessary for any foreign investors to route their RBI options via InvestCayman or any other government body. Certainly, the vast majority of applicants seek to acquire residency by way of personal investments in residential real estate to which neither InvestCayman nor any other government body would apply (and in fact, those seeking to acquire Certificates of Permanent Residence must make a minimum investment of CI$2m in developed real estate in order to facilitate approval). Notwithstanding, and in the event an investor would prefer to pursue either a 25-Year Residency Certificate (Substantial Business Presence) on account of business ownership or a 25-Year Certificate of Direct Investment, then in the early part of the application process, we would certainly help you engage with InvestCayman in respect of available opportunities.
