When can investors expect the price of the Golden Visa program of Greece to be doubled?

I read yesterday that the Greek government is planning to double the price of its Golden Visa program and impose a compulsory stay on investors. I am still weighing my immigration options among several countries, including Greece, and this news worries me. When can investors expect this change to take place? If it comes into effect, will investors who have applied under the old policy be grandfathered into the old requirements?

Many controversial publications have been circulating lately about expected changes to the Greek program, but none are officially confirmed. There have been rumors of a Greek program of restricted applications for citizenship with 2 million euros in property investments as well as a possible reduction in minimum investment amounts in underdeveloped areas. I would suggest to wait and see the intentions of the Greek government, which is completely dedicated and focused on attracting foreign investment, and not to believe unconfirmed news. Regarding the question for the already implemented investments on pipeline for resident permit acquisition, they cannot be affected of incoming changes since every law is valid and creates legal results after the date it was voted.

Please be aware that one cannot estimate for sure when the price of the Golden Visa program of Greece will be upgraded or even doubled, so I suggest if you are interested on this program to act rapidly.

Do not pay any attention to rumors. No government is ever going to narrow your possibilities in choosing Greece to invest your money/time/life. It's that logical, just common sense!

There are no official news for this increase and it is not the most potential scenario. In any case, if you apply now, you are not affected by any future amendment.
