Which new professions can get a visa in Australia to help with the country’s Covid-19 recovery?

Can I as a nurse move to Australia to help? Does the quarantine period still apply? How much does the visa cost?

Yes quarantine applies but you will need to have a job to go to. The visa application costs depend on whether it is a temporary residency or permanent.

This will cost more if you bring a partner and children. As a registered nurse, you should apply for nursing registration through AHPRA first. If eligible, your registration will be finalised when you arrive in Australia and present your identification documents. You will require registration before you can commence employment, and preliminary registration as supporting evidence for your travel exemption. The cost of the visa will vary according to whether it is a temporary or permanent visa, but most employers will trial an overseas worker on a Temporary Skills Shortage 482 visa first. This visa costs AUD 2,645. Other costs will include police checks, registration and any agent fees.
