How do the recent residency limitations in certain neighborhoods across Turkey affect potential immigrant investors?

I heard that residency permits are no longer processed in many locations in major cities. Does this apply to citizenship by investment? Can I still buy property in Fatih to get a Turkish passport?

With the announcement dated 16.05.2022 published on the official website of the Directorate of Migration Management, the list of neighborhoods that were closed to obtaining residence permits for foreigners throughout Turkey was announced. Since the quota of foreigners is full in neighborhoods with address registration restrictions, foreigners who buy real estate from those neighborhoods cannot show the address of the real estate they bought as residence. However, when we talked to the Immigration Office, they said that there would be no problem in applying for citizenship by investment for foreigners who buy real estate from neighborhoods with address registration restrictions.

Such limitations do not have impact on CBI. Yes, you can still purchase property at any location (there are other limitations such as military zone etc.) for CBI purposes.
