How can one switch his investment vehicle prior to three years and maintain Cypriot citizenship?

A year ago we invested in two properties in Cyprus in order to participate in the citizenship-by-investment program. Recent volatility in some of the stock markets around the world have us wondering if an economic downturn is around the corner. If so, it might be in our best interest to sell the real estate now. I know that we have to have money invested for three years to maintain our citizenship. Could we sell the properties and reinvest the proceeds back into government bonds? What documentation would be needed?

Prior proceeding with any changes to your investment, it is essential to inform the responsible ministries in relation to the Cyprus citizenship by investment. Also, please be informed that investment on public bonds is limited to a maximum 500,000 euros, and the remaining investment amount should be under the category of combination of investments, as per the criteria of the Cyprus citizenship by investment.
