What are the advantages for foreigners from non-EU countries in applying for Vanuatu’s CBI program following the end of its EU visa waiver deal?

Should foreigners expect golden visa investment thresholds to go down now that the Vanuatu passport won’t be as powerful as before following the end of the country’s visa waiver deal with the EU?

The only advantage lost is the tourist entry, 90 days, to the Schengen zone. All the other advantages of holding second citizenship are still valid. The price of Vanuatu citizenship is relatively low and I am not expecting the investment threshold to be lowered soon. A really small proportion of the Vanuatu CBI investors are acquiring Vanuatu citizenship with the objective of traveling in Europe. A tourist visa is much cheaper to obtain and usually quite easy for wealthy individuals to get. More than a billion people have access without visas to the EU zone, it is not really a rare commodity. This small portion of the clientele will obviously look elsewhere as it was a significant reason for them to make the investment. The vast majority that does not care about that will still apply and invest as much as before so, despite a small drop in the demand, it will not affect the price as the demand is still quite strong. From my standpoint, Vanuatu should consider increasing the citizenship price, not the opposite; the current state of the world makes second citizenship more valuable than ever before.
